[Opinion]
Consider which industry, organisation or commodity, has the most to lose should widespread adoption of Bitcoin occur.
I prefer Colonel Mustard, in the Conservatory, with the Candlestick, over the the most obvious shadowy superpowers of centralised authority most likely to blame here, but….
Evidence is now abundantly clear that Bitcoin is more helpful for the environment than harmful, it’s not in fact used by criminals [relative to US Dollars], and it is in fact valuable (does $100k prove this yet?).
Still, persistent narratives continue to paint it as detrimental. Where does this come from?
It may not be the first thing your mind goes to – instead, what you do see are people missing out because they’ve misplaced their trust in mainstream media. Too many are forced to invest with uncertain outcomes, just to preserve their purchasing power.
Everyday investors, keen to do the ‘right thing’, have missed out on the most phenomenal risk-adjusted returns this generation has witnessed.
I would equate it to theft, suggesting the culprit is well-versed in such deceit.
But what do you think – where does Bitcoin FUD originate from? *’Fear, uncertainty and doubt’.
Which industry, organisation or commodity, increasingly perceived as inefficient or untrustworthy, faces the highest risk of disruption due to technological advancements, and simultaneously, which of these has the resources, market position, or innovation culture to most effectively defend itself against such disruptions?
Big Pharma, Military industrial complex, OPEC?
Keep guessing.
Lawyers, task forces, exemptions, collusion – with immense capacity to resist or create obfuscation…whom could this be?
Always for sale is right to influence the masses, and those with the most to lose, spend the most in defense.
As it relates to Bitcoin, once you realise what it’s disrupting, you can understand why all the negative reporting. ‘Bitcoin’s bad for the environment’, it’s ‘used by criminals’, it’s a ‘Ponzi scheme’ and it has ‘no value’. These cheap, tried-and-true tropes continue to trick teacher’s pets and government simps since ages ago.
The unholy Trinity of fear, uncertainty, and doubt, is a hallmark of an organised campaign of misinformation. As it relates to our wealth, let’s not dumb down the Spidey senses when all mainstream media sounds the same.
I caught up recently with Daniel Batten – We’re touching a little bit on the false environmental narratives in the area of Bitcoin mining, expectations for 2025, and how to deal with Bitcoin mis-information.
