COACHING OVERVIEW
*Please note this service is currently paused pending the completion of a planned business merger. Expect operations to be back up and running by mid-November.
Future Ready Sessions are designed for those preparing for upcoming financial decisions, milestones or events. There are 2 sessions, that lasts up to 2-hours each, and take place over two weeks online, or in our Freemans Bay office.
What are the Future Ready Sessions?
• It’s ‘stand alone’ financial advice designed to provide a clear answer on the best way forward.
• It’s financial advice the way you would define it. It’s a perspective from another human being (not tips and tricks) who’s qualified and personally experienced in most areas of building wealth.
• It’s guidance on how to invest, with or without the use financial products (mortgages, KiwiSaver, insurances, or specific investments).
Here’s what it’s not:
• It’s not ‘general information’ or opinions – it’s advice that’s aimed specifically at you.
• It’s not an ongoing accountability service, rather, this is a ‘done with you’ advice service that relies on you to implement recommendations.
• It’s not about selling investment products, insurances, property investments, or mortgages.
WHO IS THIS COACHING FOR?
It’s for ambitious individuals, determined couples, and everyone wanting to influence their future.
• It’s for family home downgraders, pivoting property investors, and self-directed investors.
• It’s for wealth builders who need to supplement their actions, with occasional oversight.
• It’s for those looking for a balanced financial advice from someone who doesn’t have skin in the game.
It’s for anyone looking for answers to this question: ‘I know that I can, but should I??’

MEET YOUR PERSONAL COACH

Darcy Ungaro
Financial Advisor – Ungaro & Co. Everyday Investor Podcast Host.
Meet Darcy Ungaro, a qualified financial adviser who firmly believes that wealth creation begins in the mind before it materialises in your investment account. The world’s changing and ‘just enough’, may not cut it for where we’re tracking. Darcy spends time thinking about the future, then helps people to prepare the best they can to not only prosper, but safeguard that which they already have.
Darcy believes that traditional wealth-building methods are valuable, but also advocates new ways of thinking to be prepared for the seismic shifts in technology, demographics, and bigger governments. Are you ready for what’s coming?
COACHING OUTLINE
1- What are your goals?
Goals are the specific events or outcomes you wish to achieve or expedite within a defined timeframe.
- What does your retirement look like? Automated income and freedom to travel, or playing lawn bowls?
- What about family? Help the kids into property? What happens when your parents die?
- What kind of balance can we reach between lifestyle goals, and financial objectives?
………………………………………………………………………………………………..
2- Pathways.
Learn how to exploit the ‘laws of money’ to acheive your goals.
- Buy tomorrow’s home at today’s price, but rent it out until you’re ready to move in?
- ‘Grow first, then harvest’? Invest for growth first, in order to have a larger pool of funds to invest for passive income later on.
- Be a traditional investor, allocating across all the mainstream asset classes, or hedge your bets to include a different kind of future?
………………………………………………………………………………………………..
3– Critical Examination.
What are the things that can go right, and wrong with your plan? Will you even reach your objectives?
- What are some of the risks with your investments, and are the forecasted returns going to be sufficient/accurate?
- What are the micro (household) and macro (economic) factors that will determine your financial success?
- Risk and reward assessment. Understand the magnitude and severity or things that can go wrong/right, then plan accordingly.
………………………………………………………………………………………………..
4– Take action, then review.
- Define successful outcomes / break down the set of actions required (how much to invest / where / for how long).
- Understand the key steps to reach milestones.
- Review progress periodically.
………………………………………………………………………………………………..
The actual session agenda on the day, will vary depending on your chosen specialty focus.
SUMMARY
Wealthy, people often credit their success to mindset. Seldom it’s from being an analyst.
True wealth begins in the mind, not the wallet. The Future Ready Sessions are perfect for those ready to take action, and ready to adjust their views around their choices. Acting contrarian takes courage, but often the right decision involves pushing against the current. If that’s you and you’re keen to push through the easy times, hard times, and every time in between, this style of financial advice is for you.
*All coaching sessions include access to a specialised financial modelling tool before and after advice sessions. Meetings are conducted between the hours of 10am and 3pm Monday to Friday.
FAQs
Q: What can I expect in terms of output from taking these sessions?
A: You’ll have up to 4 hours of meeting time with Darcy Ungaro over two sessions, either in our offices, or via Microsoft Teams. You’ll receive a report of your current situation, and within 5 working days after our last meeting, you’ll receive a ‘statement of advice’ containing the key recommendations.
Q: What can’t I expect from these sessions?
A: Advice and strategies will require your implementation. No ‘product’ recommendations will be made. This is not a sales pitch for managed funds, shares, properties, mortgages, insurance, or KiwiSaver.
Q: Can I take a lower cost session first, then upgrade to this later on?
A: The 4hr Future Ready Sessions covers more ground, at a deeper level, and has a different pace, compared to the 2hr Sounding Board Session. It also contains more reporting requirements, and in some cases, involves a peer review. For this reason it’s not recommended.
Q: Is there anything I can do to prepare for this coaching session?
A: Yes! As soon as you’ve booked the meeting, you will be emailed some ‘homework’. It’s at this point where you’ll articulate the problem(s) you want help with solving or the questions you require answers on. After the first meeting, you’ll be asked to book in another within a 2 week period.
Q: Are there any online courses that come with a coaching session?
A: Yes! The New Wealth Foundations course contains both beginner, intermediate, and advanced online video lessons with the occasional quiz. Enjoy 90 days free access to over 3 hours of personal finance, investment basics, and intermediate strategies.
Q: Is this financial advice, and is this financial planning?
A: Darcy Ungaro is not qualified to provide tax or legal advice, however, he is a qualified financial adviser with investment, insurance, and lending strands.
Financial advice is defined as recommendations to acquire or dispose of ‘financial products’ (like specific managed funds, individual shares, KiwiSaver, Insurances, or Mortgages). The Future Ready Sessions are structured to be compliant with the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013, as amended by the Financial Services Legislation Amendment Act 2019.
Q: Are there any ongoing fees?
A: No. Future Ready Sessions work best with ambitious wealth-accumulators and motivated rainmakers. So no, this isn’t an ongoing thing you have to worry about getting value from.
Q: Are there any refunds?
A: No. We follow a strict advice process where we require a clear scope upfront detailing the advice you require. If we’re unable to offer the type of advice you’re after, we won’t agree to the sessions. There are no refunds if you don’t like the advice. If you have a partner, get them started in the process early on.
Q: Can play well with other advisers?
A: Absolutely! Because you’re not signing up to a cult, an ‘open relationship’ with other advisers is very much encouraged.
